System requirements
Choose a supported Ubuntu server and prepare DNS, storage, and network access.
Supported platform
Install LSBS only on a fresh Ubuntu 26.04 LTS server. The installer refuses other distributions and Ubuntu releases. LSBS comes from signed APT repositories; there is no ISO image and no in-place migration from an older server product.
Do not preinstall another control panel or configure production services on the target. LSBS expects to own the services it manages.
Recommended starting capacity
For a useful small-office starting point, provide 2 CPU cores, 4 GB of memory, and 20 GB of free system disk. These are planning recommendations, not installer-enforced limits. Mail, file sharing, antivirus, containers, and a larger team can require substantially more memory and storage.
- Keep headroom for updates, logs, and backups.
- Size business-data volumes separately from the operating-system disk.
- Keep a provider snapshot or other recovery path before installation.
Network and DNS readiness
- Give the server working DNS resolution and outbound HTTPS access to
lsbs.cloudandupdate.lsbs.cloud. - Keep TCP 8443 reachable from the administrator network for local WebAdmin.
- SSH on TCP 22 is needed only for assisted installation; the one-use command can be run locally instead.
- Use a short host name that differs from the first label of the office domain.
Service-specific public ports depend on the modules you enable. Open them deliberately through LSBS Firewall rather than exposing the whole server.
